Plants that will give you color in January and February

- Plant a Witch Hazel for color in winter! Witch Hazel, or Hamamelis x intermedia, comes in yellow, reds and oranges and gives you a splash of color when your not expecting it. Unfortunately this plant is not common because it is always blooming when no one is at the garden center! Pre-plan and enjoy.

Plants that will give you color in March
|
- Add a Harry Lauder's Walking Stick to your landscape and enjoy colorful yellow catkins hanging from the bare branches in March. The plant's twisting branching make it an interesting plant to look at in the winter even without the color. The plant is also know as a Contorted Filbert and has the latin name of Corylus avellana 'Contorta.'.
- Cornelian Cherry is a great plant for winter interest as it get showy clusters of fuzzy yellow flowers on bare stems in March. It also can show off a bright red fruit. It's latin name is Cornus Mas.
